However, the renewal prices after the promotional period are significantly higher, which is a cause of concern for most users.
Below is a detailed overview of SiteGround hosting solutions and what they are ideal for.
Breakdown of Web Hosting, WordPress and WooCommerce Hosting
We’ve combined the analysis of SiteGround Shared, WordPress, and WooCommerce hosting plans in this review since they offer the same features and pricing structure.
SiteGround is better for website hosting because it is built with the security and speed you need in mind. Also, launching your site only requires a click to get started. You can either use the SiteGround Site Builder to create your website easily or install WordPress for more advanced customization and functionality.
With WooCommerce hosting, you can also start selling online with a free installation of the shopping cart of your choice with SSL and daily backups included.
As mentioned earlier, the initial prices are affordable, but they increase significantly upon renewal. Hence, make sure you consider the long-term costs and renewal rates before committing to a plan.

SiteGround web hosting package starts at only $3.99 per month, which is a bit high compared to other best cheap web hosting providers in the industry. Hence, we can say that SiteGround is not cheap for beginners but perfectly optimized to guarantee ultra fast hosting for your website and applications.
The jump from $3.99 to $17.99 upon renewal is justified by SiteGround’s premium infrastructure and performance enhancements. Unlike many budget hosts, SiteGround operates on Google Cloud infrastructure, ensuring faster speeds, high availability, and reliable uptime.
It also includes AI-powered security, proactive server monitoring, automatic daily backups, and built-in caching (SG Optimizer). These features guarantee a no-fail, high-performance hosting experience.
Here is a rundown of SiteGround hosting plans that cater for web hosting, managed WordPress hosting and WooCommerce hosting:

Moving on, the number of websites you can host on SiteGround depends on the plan you choose. For Startup, you can only host just 1 website while the higher tier plans offer unlimited access to create as many websites as required. However, you might be limited by the insufficient web space allocated to the web hosting plans. So, while SiteGround advertises unlimited websites on these plans, it is important to know how much space is required to run a fully functional website.
Another thing we noticed during our SiteGround web hosting review is its managed WordPress hosting features. These tools, including WP-CLI, the security and speed optimizer WP plugin, free WordPress installation, and Auto Migrator, ensure seamless site management, enhanced security, faster performance, and effortless website migration.
We also found out during our investigation of SiteGround web hosting that you can set up or transfer WordPress automatically in one click, and enable WordPress auto-updates to always run the latest version.
Overall, you need SiteGround if you want to unlock the power of high performance web hosting. While the renewal prices are higher, if SiteGround delivers the performance and uptime your website requires, it’s worth the investment to stay online with exceptional speed and reliability.
Rundown of SiteGround Cloud Hosting
If you are looking for auto-scalable and high performance cloud plans to support your growing website, SiteGround’s cloud hosting is a versatile option to choose.
We like that you can also host your WordPress sites or Woo store on SiteGround’s cloud servers to enjoy amazing performance and a managed service.
SiteGround hosts all websites on Google Cloud infrastructure, ensuring fast load times, high reliability, and enterprise-grade security. With ultra-fast SSD storage, automatic resource scaling, and a global network, your website stays online and performs optimally, even during traffic spikes.
This means your site benefits from the same powerful technology that powers Google’s own services, providing unmatched speed and stability.

We also found out during our SiteGround review that this cloud hosting solution comes with only 14 days money back guarantee. Also, SiteGround’s experienced DevOps will configure and manage your cloud account by taking care of the IT aspect. This will allow you to focus on more important issues related to your business growth.
Furthermore, SiteGround’s entry-level cloud hosting plan offers a smooth but pricey start, starting at $100 per month. It includes 40 GB of storage, which is relatively limited compared to other leading cloud hosting providers. The upside is that you can fully customize your cloud hosting setup by selecting your preferred resources. However, the main drawback remains its high cost.
Overall, Choose SiteGround cloud hosting If your site has outgrown the shared hosting solutions then it’s time to move to the cloud. SiteGround offers a cloud platform that offers powerful dedicated resources and is optimized for efficiency and speed that guarantees a top performance of your site.

Overview of SiteGround Reseller Hosting
If you want to manage multiple websites like a professional, then you need to see this SiteGround reseller hosting review. As a reseller on SiteGround, you will get all the tools you need to build, and ship sites to clients in a few clicks.
With GoGeek and Cloud plans, you can register clients as users in your account and provide them with white-label access to Site Tools. This allows them to manage their websites independently, without seeing any SiteGround branding in their dashboard.
As advertised, the GrowBig package is the first reseller hosting plan but doesn’t come with the white-label feature. Hence, you will need to buy the higher tier plans to manage white-label hosting and clients.
Here’s a run-through of what SiteGround Reseller hosting has to offer.

SiteGround Site Builder and WordPress Review - Can you build a website on SiteGround?
Yes, but with limitations. If you prefer a dedicated website builder, you may find Weebly too basic and WordPress a better choice for long-term scalability. SiteGround provides excellent hosting infrastructure, but it does not have a proprietary website builder like Wix or Squarespace.
SiteGround is a web hosting provider, not a standalone website builder, but it does offer tools to help users create websites easily. Through SiteGround’s partnership with WordPress and Weebly, users can build a professional website without extensive technical knowledge.
Here are SiteGround’s Website Building Options:
- WordPress with Site Tools Integration
- One-click WordPress installation makes it easy to set up a site.
- SG Optimizer plugin enhances performance and security.
- Automatic updates and managed security ensure stability.
2. Weebly Drag-and-Drop Builder
- Included in all shared hosting plans for beginners.
- Simple drag-and-drop functionality requires no coding.
- Offers custom templates and basic eCommerce features.
- Custom Website Development
- Users can upload custom-built sites using HTML, CSS, or third-party CMS platforms.
- Full FTP and database access for advanced customization.
Moving on, make sure to choose your preferred data center by clicking on the edit icon beside the auto-selected data center. This step is crucial because choosing a data center closer to your audience ensures faster website loading times whenever a request is made.

During our SiteGround review, we encountered some upselling when setting up a blank WordPress website for testing. SiteGround recommends the Site Scanner Basic and Premium plans as optional add-ons. While these tools offer valuable protection through daily URL and domain scans, including scans of uploaded files, they come at an additional cost.
For testing purposes, we recommend starting with the Site Scanner Basic, which costs $2.49 per month (billed annually). To proceed, simply click “Select” as shown in the screenshot and confirm. However, this isn’t a hard sell—you can easily decline the offer by clicking “No, thank you” and continue building your website without the add-on.
Another upsell you may encounter is the Email Marketing Bundle, which comes with a free 30-day trial and renews at $9.99 per month. Additionally, you’ll see an offer for Premium Backup at 50% off for the first year, costing just $2.49 per month.

For this SiteGround review, we would create a test website using the SiteGround Site builder and WordPress to help you know how user friendly it is. The onboarding process is very straightforward with WordPress starter as it allows you to use a quick customization Wizard to finish setting up your website.
Since SiteGround doesn’t offer free domain name registration, we used our test domain hostingpitest.com from our InMotion hosting review. To connect it, we simply updated the DNS settings within InMotion’s domain management platform, where the domain was originally registered.

To proceed, we clicked on “Start Now”, then we selected our site topic in the next window. You can select from the free and paid pre-designed templates suitable for various personal and business projects to help your site look professional and awesome. We chose the Twenty Twenty Three theme since we only want to use it to test the performance of SiteGround later in this review.

After selecting your preferred options, you can enhance your website by adding features like contact forms, online shops, maps, galleries, and multilingual support. Once we added our chosen plugin, we clicked “Continue” to proceed.
A major advantage of WordPress is the ability to automate marketing tasks using plugins. SiteGround also offers built-in marketing tools, including Google Analytics integration, SEO optimization, contact management, and subscriber growth tools, to help streamline your marketing efforts.

Next, we clicked on complete and our WordPress website was installed with the necessary plugins. One reason we prefer Site Tools over cPanel is its ease of use. It’s more beginner-friendly, with an intuitive interface and a step-by-step wizard that makes building a website effortless in just minutes.

SiteGround Site Tools - Is it better than cPanel?
SiteGround replaced cPanel with its custom-built Site Tools, offering a modern, streamlined interface designed for ease of use.
Unlike cPanel, which can feel cluttered for beginners, Site Tools features a clean, intuitive layout with a left-side navigation panel, making it easy to access key functions like website management, email setup, security settings, and backups.
One major advantage of Site Tools over cPanel is its performance optimization and seamless integration with SiteGround’s Google Cloud infrastructure.
Features like auto-scaling resources, built-in caching (SG Optimizer), and AI-powered security tools are directly integrated into Site Tools, making site management faster and more efficient.
However, advanced users accustomed to cPanel’s extensive third-party plugin support may find Site Tools somewhat limited in customization.
Overall, Site Tools is an excellent alternative to cPanel, especially for those seeking a user-friendly, clutter-free experience. It prioritizes performance and security while maintaining essential website management tools. However, for users who rely on cPanel-specific plugins or advanced server configurations, there may be a slight learning curve.

SiteGround Review: Speed and Uptime Performance
Our SiteGround review won’t be complete without testing their speed and uptime performances. These are two critical factors that determine how well your website will perform.
Speed and uptime are critical factors in choosing a web host. A fast-loading website improves SEO, user experience, and conversions, while strong uptime ensures your site is always accessible. If your website is slow or frequently offline, you risk losing visitors and potential customers.
To measure SiteGround’s actual performance, we will test speed and uptime using industry-standard tools. GTmetrix will help analyze page load times and performance metrics, while Pingdom will monitor uptime reliability. These tests will be performed on the WordPress website we created earlier in this SiteGround review, giving real-world insights into how well SiteGround handles performance.
First GTmetrix Test for SiteGround
We performed this GTmetrix test and review with a WordPress themed site created by SiteGround upon installation through the Wizard. The selected theme was Twenty Twenty Three with no further customization.
Also, note that the NGINX direct delivery and dynamic cache are active automatically on the site. These tools serve most of the static and not static resources of your website directly through NGINX to achieve the fastest possible loading time.
Therefore, the result below is out of the box speed for any random website you build and launch on SiteGround.

Our test website on SiteGround achieved an impressive TTFB of just 80ms, making it one of the fastest response times we have recorded in our annual review of hosting providers. This shows that SiteGround’s servers respond almost instantly to browser requests, ensuring minimal latency.
We also recorded an FCP of 325ms and an LCP of 456ms, proving that SiteGround’s caching technologies and optimized infrastructure effectively speed up content delivery. Additionally, our CLS was 0, meaning there were no unexpected layout shifts, ensuring a stable user experience.
The fully loaded time was just 524ms, making it one of the quickest loading websites we’ve tested. Finally, SiteGround earned a GTmetrix Grade A, with 100% performance and structure ratings, confirming its top-tier speed and reliability.
SiteGround Speed Test Summary (GTmetrix):
- Time to First Byte (TTFB): 80ms (exceptionally fast!)
- First Contentful Paint (FCP): 325ms
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): 456ms
- Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS): 0 (perfect stability)
- Fully Loaded Time: 524ms (ultra-fast!)
These results prove that SiteGround’s infrastructure is among the best, delivering blazing-fast speeds even on shared hosting. If shared hosting performs this well, imagine the power of their cloud and dedicated servers
Second GTmetrix Test for SiteGround
We proceeded with a second GTmetrix speed test to further evaluate SiteGround’s performance. This time, we tested a fully functional website with images, text, and other site elements to see how well SiteGround handles real-world website conditions.
To do this, we decided to use one of the SiteGround site builder templates to create a test website. For a quick launch, you can choose a ready template, which you can easily change later or scroll down to start building from scratch.

As seen in the screenshot above, SiteGround builder comes with a free CDN and Let’s Encrypt SSL. The former caches your content across a global network of servers and loads your website from the closest one to your site visitor. On the other hand, the latter encrypts all data transfer between your server and visitors to secure your website and improve your Google rankings.
Another thing we noticed during our SiteGround review is that websites created using SiteGround’s website builder show a “Coming Soon” page before publishing because SiteGround automatically enables a default maintenance mode for new sites. This ensures that unfinished websites aren’t publicly visible until they are fully set up and ready to launch.

To disable “Coming Soon” mode, click on Customize, then select Edit. Navigate to General Settings and uncheck the option “Enable Coming Soon Mode”. This will instantly publish your website, making it publicly accessible to visitors.

With our website now live, we can move on to the final step by testing its performance using GTmetrix. Note that we have used a temporary domain for this test instead of the primary domain for this test.

Our test and review of the SiteGround Site builder was a fantastic experience. Again, the performance report from the GTmetrix test showed that SiteGround is one of the best web hosting services in the industry.
In our GTmetrix test and review, using a server located in Texas, USA, SiteGround delivered an impressive TTFB of 123ms—significantly faster than the 286ms recorded during our A2 Hosting review. We believe this exceptional speed is due to strategic data center selection and SiteGround’s CDN, both of which play a key role in speeding up your website load time.
Comparing this result with our first GTmetrix test, SiteGround continues to deliver exceptional speed and stability. While the TTFB increased slightly from 80ms to 123ms, it remains one of the fastest we’ve recorded, outperforming many other hosting providers.
In this second test, FCP and LCP were 319ms and 531ms, showing slight variations but still within ultra-fast loading times. The fully loaded time remained consistent at 531ms, reinforcing SiteGround’s strong performance across different website configurations.
Interestingly, we once again recorded 0 CLS, meaning no unexpected layout shifts, ensuring a smooth user experience. However, while performance remained at 100%, the structure score dropped slightly to 96%, which could be due to minor differences in page elements or optimizations.
Overall, these results confirm that SiteGround’s speed is consistently excellent, with CDN and data center selection playing a key role in maintaining top-tier performance. The minimal variance in load times proves that SiteGround’s infrastructure is well-optimized, even as website complexity increases.
SiteGround Uptime Test with Pingdom
Before choosing any hosting provider, it’s important to ask your web host the right questions, especially about uptime reliability. While many providers promise 99.9% uptime, not all of them deliver on that guarantee. To verify SiteGround’s reliability, we monitored our test website using Pingdom, giving you real data on its actual uptime performance.

During our 8-day uptime monitoring, SiteGround recorded a flawless 100% uptime with no downtime. This means the server remained fully operational throughout the test period, ensuring uninterrupted access for website visitors.
A 100% uptime surpasses the industry standard, where even a 99.95% uptime allows for up to 4 hours of potential downtime per year. Many shared hosting providers struggle to maintain even a 99.9% uptime guarantee, making SiteGround’s performance particularly impressive.
With no recorded downtime, these results confirm that SiteGround offers exceptional reliability. If uptime is a top priority for your business or online store, SiteGround proves to be a dependable hosting provider that ensures your website stays online without interruptions.
